Oksana Lysytsyna

Oksana Lysytsyna has been painting since childhood — first in the soft light of an Odessa afternoon, where she grew up, and where she later trained as an art teacher at the city's university. The brushes never left her hand.

Today she works from her studio in Stafford, England, painting in oil and watercolour with the quiet patience of someone who learned to see before she learned to speak. Her landscapes carry the warmth of southern summers; her still lifes the hush of a candle at the window; her portraits an honest stillness.

For the past five years her work has travelled — to international exhibitions and competitions across Europe and beyond — returning each time with new vocabulary for the same old love..
